Luckily, Humans have Strength and Constitution at ten, with all other stats at 11. That means you won’t have any drawbacks or bonuses on your rolls.
However, when you get farther into the game, you can start increasing your stats. By that point, you’ll have a better idea of what you want to increase, so you can handle your character accordingly and also pick a background as you see fit.
Use Your Summons Immediately, But Save Your Experience Boosts
As you go through the game, you’ll unlock more summons in the form of a 20-sided die. Each one will give you a random character, so if you get someone new, you can add them to your team. Everyone has a unique passive, attack, and ultimate move to utilize in battle.
If you get a character that you’ve already unlocked, you’ll get currency and items instead, meaning they’re always worth rolling. On top of that, all characters start at level one, so you’ll want to get them immediately so you can add anyone to your party who you want to use.
As you play the game, you’ll also get experience boosts, which allow you to immediately give your characters some experience. You may feel tempted to use them right away, but you should hold off on using your experience boosts.
You may roll a Legendary character in the future who you want to keep on your team. Instead of throwing them in the party and hoping they can survive, you can instantly bring them around your party’s level.
Avoid using Common characters. You’ll encounter plenty of characters above Common level naturally as you play through the game, so replace them as soon as you can.
You can also save them to help you avoid grinding. As you fight different bosses, you may find them to be too powerful. If that happens, the game will give you a loss screen and mention a recommended level. You could then use the Experience Boosts to get to that level and defeat your foe.
Go With The Traditional RPG Build: DPS, Tank, And Support
You can have up to five characters on the field at once, so while you organize them, you should cover your bases regarding the RPG trio. You’ll want someone to help with damage per second (DPS), a tank, and a support.
Your DPS character can either focus on single-target damage, like Noteera, or go with AOE damage, like your main character. A tank will draw attention and keep your characters alive. Someone like Forbit or Nessa can perform well in this role.
As for Support, you should pick someone who specifically heals rather than a character that applies buffs or debuffs. You’ll get Heksandra on the team early, so keep her around until you find someone better.
From there, you can round out your party based on what you need. A support with Buffs could be great for most fights, though you may need more healing if you’re dealing with a challenging boss.
Positioning And Ultimate Usage Is Key To Winning
Even though the game uses active time combat, you’ll need to focus on positioning to win. For instance, sometimes enemies will be directly in front of you while others will surround you, so you’ll need to plan accordingly.
As a general rule, you’ll want to keep your support in the safest position since you’ll lose if they go down. Keep your tanks in a position where they draw the most attention.
If you look at enemies and move them around, you’ll see lines moving from the enemies to you. These indicate who the enemies will target at the start, so have most of the attention on your tanks.
As another point, ensure your characters have at least 80 percent health or higher before the fight starts. Some battles may have multiple rounds, and you can’t heal between them.
You also want to keep your characters bunched together since your support will likely have an AoE Ultimate heal. Speaking of which, you’ll need to use your Ultimates regularly to win matches.
Some of them will target foes around the character, but many of them will let you position the attack. For instance, your main character has an AOE fireball that can hit up to nine foes at once, so you’ll want to position it to maximize the damage.
On top of this, whenever you use an Ultimate, it freezes the game. This allows you to think about the situation without having to deal with tons of actions on the screen.
As your character performs the attack, they also freeze the game, so you can stack multiple Ultimates in a row to quickly deal damage.
Scroll Through The Boss’s Attack Icons At The Start Of Fights
Whenever you fight against a boss, their health bar will be at the very top of the screen rather than over their character model. The top bar represents their health, and the yellow one underneath is a time bar.
You’ll notice the time bar has notches with corresponding circles. Each of these circles is an ability, so when the time bar reaches those notches, the ability activates.
If you hover over the circles representing abilities, you can see what action the enemy will perform at that moment. For instance, one of the early bosses will shoot lasers to deal damage in multiple lines. You can prepare for this attack by healing your teammates right before it.
The same applies to other abilities the boss has, so you’ll want to hover over each of them at the beginning to know what you can expect. You may lose the fight the first time, but you can learn the boss’s moves and adjust your party accordingly.
Keep in mind that bosses also have passive abilities, which you can check by hovering over the P on the left side of their health bar. If they’re going to summon enemies with a passive or ability, take those enemies out as quickly as possible. Doing so will cut down the boss’s damage.
You should also remember that large bosses will take up a huge portion of the battlefield. Ensure you position AOE attacks to reach them while you try to hit other enemies during the fight. You’ll notice it’s going to hit if it highlights the boss.
